Spanapark has lost one of their own this month. Deb Burks has been bravely battling cancer for several years. Sadly, she passed away on November 1st after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Her bravery and optimism will always shine through and her memory lives on in all of us. Cancer always seems to take the best of us. If you knew Deb, you were in the presence of a wonderful, caring, and selfless person. She gave her body to science when all other treatments failed her so that future patients could possibly be saved, even if she could not. Her perseverance, kindness, and optimism in the face of such an unsympathetic disease will not be forgotten. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
